The Brief
The Bet9ja Foundation was hosting a wellness CSR event in Warri — a public fitness activation bringing residents together for exercise, health awareness, and community connection. They came to Five04 for the PR: securing media coverage that would put the Foundation's work in front of a national audience beyond the event itself. The KPI was media reach.
02
Our Approach
The concept was Bet9ja Foundation's — a live wellness event carrying the Foundation's "Betting On You" tagline into a real community moment. Our strategic decision was on the media plan.
Rather than send press releases from a distance and hope for pickup, we brought media houses to Warri to report the event firsthand. Journalists on the ground produce sharper, more specific coverage than editors working from a submitted article — and they carry the credibility of a first-person witness back to their publications.
03
Execution
The event drew hundreds of attendees in Warri — residents turning up in numbers for fitness exercises, wellness activities, and the Foundation's engagement programming. On the ground, we coordinated the media contingent we'd invited, ensuring each outlet had what they needed to file strong coverage.
Five04 identified the right media outlets for the story, coordinated their attendance and access, and managed the coverage process end-to-end — from digital publications to print titles that carried the Foundation's story across Nigerian media.

The Result
The event landed as a substantive CSR moment for the Bet9ja Foundation — carried into national conversation through coverage in both digital and print media, framed by journalists who'd witnessed the work themselves rather than reported it from a distance.
